A Royal Wedding

It was almost impossible to miss the coverage of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in April, 2011. Even though we no longer live under a monarchy, our nation is still enthralled by royal weddings.

The Scriptures us the imagery of a royal wedding to describe the relationship between Christ, our Bridegroom, and we, in the Christian Church, as His Bride.

That’s remarkable! To think that God wants that kind of relationship with us. So intimate, so close, so personal. The union of a man and a woman as one flesh is as close and united as two persons can be, and this is how God wants to be with you and me. He doesn’t want to be a God far away, or unapproachable, or unknowable, but a God who promises to be with us for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, in a union that not even death can part.

Join us for three very special Midweek Advent Services as we explore our relationship to our Bridegroom in our three-part sermon series on A Royal Wedding.
