Funeral sermon for Marilyn Acklam
Psalm 139:7-10 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. How well did you know Marilyn? I think many of us knew Marilyn well enough to know that she was a type “A” personality; she was driven; she got things done. We knew that she was a very positive person with a beautiful smile and a sense of urgency. Many people relied on her – Roger, her children, her grandchildren, the Home Guild ladies here at Epiphany and the Women’s Club at Open Bible Lutheran Church in Florida . She and her family would always stay late to clean up the church kitchen and put chairs away.
