Heroes of Faith

Every Sunday this summer we are studying a different Old Testament hero of faith.

Faith is obeying God even when His plans seem crazy, like Joshua marching around the walled city of Jericho.

Faith is the willingness to be a “fool for Christ,” as Noah must have seemed as he built his ark.

Faith is trusting God in the face of impossible circumstances like Elijah at the bedside of the widow’s dead son.

Faith is the courage to do mighty exploits against all odds. By faith Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David and Samuel subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, defeated giants, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle and turned to flight the armies of the enemies (Hebrews 11:32-34).

Against such a backdrop of great heroes, let us emulate their faith and boldly arise to be a world-shaker and history-maker for the glory of God.

Worship and learn with us every Sunday morning or Wednesday evening this summer and increase your faith.
