Come Follow Me

“Come Follow Me” is a movie that depicts what it means to be a disciple, a follower of Jesus. Based on the Bible, the movie recounts the experience of Peter, one of Jesus’ most prominent disciples. But the way of discipleship is difficult as the life of Peter proved. He had doubts and fears, and even denied knowing Jesus, an action that shamed him and burdened his conscience with guilt. The comfort for Peter was Jesus who assured his disciple of his loving forgiveness through his death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. And the way for Peter to be a faithful follower of Jesus was found in the power and promises of Jesus’ true word—in the same way as it is for us.
In a time when people waited for a Messiah to bring peace to a troubled world, Jesus called Peter to leave his fishing boat to follow him. Walk along with Peter on his journey from despair to a new life of courage as Jesus reveals how his victory at the cross and grave affects our daily life and brings power to carry out his purpose for our lives.

Watch the movie and apply the message of “Come Follow Me” in our Sunday morning Bible study at Epiphany. The study begins this Sunday at 9:15 am in the church basement.
