Shoreland announcements for Oct 23

Grandparents Day at Shoreland Lutheran High School will be held on Thursday, November 3 and Friday, November 4  from 11am-3pm each day.  Grandparents will enjoy refreshments during a Shoreland presentation, chapel, a look into different parts of the school day and curriculum, and lunch & activities with their grandchild.  Also, they will have the option of coming early for the dress rehearsal of the SLHS Drama “And Then There Were None” from 9am-11am.  Please RSVP by visiting tinyurl.com/GP-Days or calling the SLHS office at 262-859-2595.  You can choose which day (Nov 3 or Nov 4) works best for you.  

Shoreland Drama Production
Shoreland would like to invite you to a day of mystery and suspense at our performance of "And Then There Were None," a classic whodunit brought to you by the Shoreland Drama department. . The performances will be held on November 4th and 5th at 7pm, and a Sunday afternoon performance on the 6th at 2pm. Tickets will be sold online for $8 for adults and $6 for students. Come on down to enjoy a fun night at the theater!

Veterans Day Assembly
Please join us as we honor our country’s veterans.  Shoreland is hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 11th, from 2:15pm – 2:45pm. Our guest speaker will be Racine County Veterans Service Officer, Retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Brad Behling.  Veterans, please call the Shoreland office (262-859-2595) to reserve a seat. Veterans and their families are invited to a light reception following the assembly.

Bus Drivers Needed
Shoreland Lutheran High School is looking to hire a part time (10-20 hours a week) bus driver. We are looking for someone who is courteous, thoughtful, loves working with students, and read schedules/follow map directions. SLHS will provide 100% paid training and help the qualified individual obtain their CDL. One of the best benefits of being a SLHS school bus driver is becoming part of our family and a discount on tuition! Fall Dinner Concert
Everyone is invited to the school year's first and most filling concert, the annual Shoreland Dinner Concert on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:00 pm in the gym.  There will be plenty of good food and some fun music to finish off the evening. Max Lucado - False Doctrine

I love the way author Max Lucado writes. He is a great storyteller and a fantastic wordsmith. I have a number of Lucado's books on my shelves and receive his daily paragraph devotions. However, as popular as he is, as many books as he has sold, as many lives as he has touched with the Gospel, he still proclaims false doctrine. Water into blood and water into wine

Here are some thoughts that didn’t make it into Sunday’s sermon. The Old Testament lesson for the 2nd Sunday after Epiphany is the account of Moses turning the water of the Nile River into blood. The first of the ten plagues God used to get the Israelites out of Egypt. Exodus 7:14-24 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water.
